Mask requirements and hospital visitation

ProHealth Care strives to limit the spread of COVID-19 and ensure a safe environment for patients, employees and visitors.

Masks
ProHealth Care hospitals

Masks are optional in our hospitals unless a patient requires isolation or has symptoms of COVID-19 or another contagious disease. Our caregivers will continue to wear masks while interacting with patients in isolation or performing tasks or procedures that require them. When masks are required, medical-grade masks should be worn and will be made available.

If a patient asks that staff wear masks while providing care, our teams will do so. Otherwise masks will be optional for patients and ProHealth employees.

ProHealth Medical Group clinics and urgent care
In the clinics, masks are optional unless a patient has signs of respiratory illness. When symptoms are present, patients and employees will be masked. Masking is also recommended for those with weakened immune systems.

Outpatient rehabilitation clinics
In our outpatient rehabilitation sites, masks are optional. Patients with signs of respiratory illness are asked to reschedule their appointments.

Outpatient cancer centers
ProHealth's cancer centers have also relaxed their masking requirements. Masks are now optional for most patients.

Visitation
With the decline in the number of COVID-19 hospital admissions and positive test results, ProHealth has returned to an open visitation policy at all hospitals. There are no restrictions on how many visitors a hospital patient may have. There also is no minimum age requirement for visitors.

These changes recognize the important role that family members, friends, clergy and others play in the recovery process.

Hospital leaders may limit visitation in situations where they determine it is in the interest of a patient’s health and safety.

Visitors are asked to self-screen at the hospital entrances and to leave if they have a fever or other signs of illness.
