MonaLisa Touch: A hormone-free option for vaginal dryness
The MonaLisa Touch™ is the only intravaginal laser approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of vaginal dryness. ProHealth Care is one of only two providers in Wisconsin offering this estrogen-free alternative that patients have described as "life changing."
A woman’s estrogen levels fluctuate throughout her lifetime. While menopause is the leading cause, some treatments for cancer and certain medications also can cause a loss of the hormone. Estrogen helps maintain the blood supply to the vaginal tissue preserving its elasticity and keeping it healthy. A decrease in estrogen can cause vaginal dryness, burning, itching and pain during intercourse. Millions of women suffer from this extremely uncomfortable condition that can diminish their quality of life significantly.
Fast and safe
The office procedure is a series of three sessions scheduled six weeks apart, with each session lasting approximately three minutes. The laser is inserted into the vagina and gently delivers energy pulses to the vaginal skin and connective tissue under the vaginal lining. This stimulates collagen production, triggering the healing process and revitalizing the tissue.

Immediate, long-lasting relief
Patients often experience immediate relief after the first treatment – and even greater improvement with each successive treatment. While symptom relief after one session is common, a series of three treatments is recommended for long-term results. Depending upon your condition, a single treatment annually may be advised to maintain symptom relief. Together, you and your physician will determine if follow-up sessions are necessary.
The MonaLisa Touch laser procedure is not covered by insurance. Each treatment is $700. Or, pay upfront for a series of three treatments and receive the reduced rate of $1,500 - a $600 savings. We do not bill for this service or file insurance claims on your behalf. Itemized statements are available upon request.
